Thompson, Urbanski Rider Athletes of Month

LAWRENCEVILLE—Jason Thompson of the basketball team and Lauren Urbanski of the swimming & diving team have been named the Rider University Athletes of the Month for November.

Thompson, a junior from Mt. Laurel (Lenape High), led Rider to a 4-2 November by averaging 20.7 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game, shooting 58 percent from the field and 78 percent from the foul line.

Urbanski, a senior from Lansdowne, PA (Upper Darby High School), broke both the Bucknell Pool record and the Rider team record in the 200 butterfly, and also won the 100 butterfly and swam on the winning 200 and 400 medley relays at the Bucknell Invitational. Urbanski also won the 200 butterfly against Marist.

Urbanski currently owns the fastest times in the MAAC this season in the 100 and 200 butterfly events, qualified for the U.S. Open and was a MAAC Swimmer of the Week in November

Thompson leads the MAAC in blocks and is second in rebounding and third in scoring, and was a co-winner of the MAAC Player of the Week award the last week of November.
