Rider’s Korn MAAC Diver of Week, Again
LAWRENCEVILLE—Dylan Korn, a junior diver on the Rider University swimming & diving team, was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Diver of the Week for all competition October 31-November 6. It marks the second consecutive week Korn has won this award.
Korn (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) won both the one-meter (244.80) and the three-meter (244.88) dives in a MAAC met at Marist.
“Dylan didn’t have the best warm-up at Marist, and there was some concern before the meet,” said Rider head coach Steve Fletcher, “but once the meet started he did very well against one of the top diving teams in the MAAC. This could be a preview of what we’ll see in the finals at the MAAC Championships.”
“I was a little disappointed on how I performed this week, compared to last week,” said Korn. “But Marist is our biggest rival, so finishing in first against them is always great. It is nice to see how you stand against the competition at this point in the season. This meet is nothing like the Championships later on in the season, but at this point of the year it is nice to know where I stand.”
Last year Korn was named the MAAC Most Outstanding Diver, winning both the one-meter and the three-meter dives at the MAAC Championships.
“Dylan is arguably one of the most successful divers in Rider history,” said Fletcher. “He’s very talented and we’re excited because he is still improving.”
The swimming & diving team competes at home in the Coppola Pool Saturday against the University of Pennsylvania and Lehigh.
