Rider to Honor Vets Saturday
LAWRENCEVILLE—Rider University will offer free admission to its men’s basketball game against Wilkes University on Saturday, November 11 to all veterans past and those serving today, in honor of Veteran’s Day.
“This game gives us a special opportunity to pay honor to the sacrifices of our veterans,” said Karin Torchia, Rider Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs. “We are doing this in conjunction with the Veterans Affairs and the NCAA in a nationwide effort to recognize and celebrate our veterans.”
Family members attending with a veteran will get a discounted ticket for $3. Interested veterans should show up at the ticket window in Rider’s Alumni Gymnasium on Saturday night with their military ID to receive their free ticket.
“It's our small way of showing our appreciation for all that those in the military have and are currently doing for us to maintain our freedom,” Torchia said.
Game time is 7:00 pm Saturday.
