Cranberry & Black World Series

Cranberry & Black World Series

The Third annual Rider University Cranberry and Black World Series will continue on Saturday, October 21, at 12 noon, on the Sonny Pittaro Field.

The Cranberry and Black Series, a best three out of five series of three-inning games, brings an official end to the Rider fall baseball season.

The first game, which was suspended due to darkness on Thursday, is currently tied at 1-1.

Freshman shortstop Garrett Rugg (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) of the Black team singled in freshman Darron Lattomus (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) with the tying run in the bottom of the eighth inning off of Cranberry pitcher sophomore Jim Kennedy (Levittown, PA/Holy Ghost).

Senior Brad States (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) scored an unearned run for the Cranberry team in the top of the eighth inning.

The Black team holds a 7-2 advantage in the series history.

The Rider spring season begins February 23-25 with a three-game series at East Tennessee State.
