10 Broncs Ranked by CAA, 2 on All-Freshman Team
LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University wrestling team has a wrestler ranked in each of the ten weight classes in the Colonial Athletic Association, and two Broncs are on the CAA All-Freshman Team to start the 2006-07 season.
Rider rookies Brian Polashuk (Thomasville, PA/Spring Grove) and Rob Morrison (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff) were named to the CAA Preseason All-Freshman Team.
Polashuk begins his first season at Rider ranked sixth in the 125 pound weight class in the CAA.
Broncs ranked first in the CAA include junior Zac Cunliffe (Farmingdale/Howell) at 133, junior Don Fisch (Williamstown/Delsea) at 141 and sophomore Doug Umbehauer at 174.
Sophomore Mike Kessler (Randallstown, MD/Owings Mills) is ranked second at 149, senior Dave Miller (Southampton/Lenape) is ranked second at 157, freshman Mike Miller (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) is ranked second at 184, junior T. J. Morrison (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff) is ranked third at 197, senior Tyler Rees (Dillsburg, PA/Northern Regional) is ranked third at heavyweight and senior Ryan Cunningham (Cherry Hill West) is ranked fourth at 165.
Nationally, Fisch is ranked seventh, Dave Miller is ranked 16th, Cunliffe is ranked 17th, T.J. Morrison is 19th and Kessler is ranked 20th.
The Broncs begin the 2006-07 season with a home match with #21 Lehigh November 10, and host #25 Pittsburgh November 14.
