Barbara Whalley begins her third season as an assistant coach with the Rider field hockey team. Whalley is a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University in England, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sport & exercise science. Whalley earned her master's degree in physical education/athletic administration at the College of New Jersey, where she coached for two seasons, helping the Lions win a pair of Conference Championships and advance to the NCAA Tournament.  “Barb has been a great addition to our staff,” said head coach Lori Hussong. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and international experience to our program. She is a bright, articulate communicator and our players have responded well to her.”  Whalley played field hockey for a club in Bradford in the English National League as well as in the Great Britain Colleges.
