Rider Women's Basketball - Community Outreach
School Supply Donation Drive for Hedgepeth/Williams (Trenton, NJ)

LAWRENCEVILLE--As part of the Rider Athletics community outreach program, the women's basketball team collected school supplies to donate to the Trenton area elementary schools.

"The Trenton area elementary schools can really benefit from having extra school supplies," said assistant coach Leah Frazier Dixon who coordinated the supply drive.  "There are many students in the area who can benefit and have their educational experience enhanced by having more of the basic supplies that are needed every day."

The items that were donated by the Rider community included pens, pencils, crayons, loose-leaf paper, folders and glue sticks.

"Your donations will go a long way toward making the school year easier for many kids in Trenton's school system," Frazier Dixon added.  "It is just a small way that Rider Athletics, the women's basketball team and the Rider community can help those in the communities near the University."

The basketball team presented the supplies to the Hedgepeth/Williams School staff in Trenton, New Jersey, during a school visit the first week of October.
