Rider Announces 2006-07 Schedule
LAWRENCEVILLE—The 2006-2007 Rider University men’s basketball schedule features three teams who competed in the NCAA tournament last year, two games on the Madison Square Garden Television Network, a game at the Sovereign Bank Arena, and at least one game on ESPNU.
Following an exhibition game with Wilkes University November 11 in Rider’s Alumni Gym, the schedule begins at the New Jersey Institute of Technology November 14. The non-conference portion of the schedule features road games at Notre Dame, Villanova, Boston U. and Delaware, and home games with Northeastern, Drexel and Monmouth.
“The schedule is really challenging, starting with Big East powers Villanova and Notre Dame, and has teams we’ve traditionally had great games with, like Delaware and Drexel, Monmouth and FDU,” said second year head coach Tommy Dempsey. “The schedule will have us prepared well for the MAAC.”
The MAAC schedule begins with a home game against the defending conference champion, Iona, Thursday, December 7.
Rider will play on MSG at home against Loyola and at Saint Peter’s, and will host Siena in a MAAC game at Sovereign Bank Arena January 27.
