2006 MAAC Soccer Championships to Air Live On ESPNU
Edison , N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and ESPN announce plans to televise the 2006 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championship games on ESPNU, live from the campus of Fairfield University on Sunday, November 5, 2006.
“The MAAC membership is excited to have both the men's and women's soccer championships broadcast nationally on ESPNU in a unique doubleheader format at Fairfield University," said MAAC Commissioner Richard J. Ensor. "This opportunity will showcase MAAC soccer to a national audience and Fairfield University will be a great venue for the championship with grass and turf field options depending on weather conditions."
“ESPNU is proud to be the home of the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championship,” said Burke Magnus, vice president and general manager, ESPNU. “We are excited to continue our relationship with the Conference into a new college sports season and provide its fans with live game coverage.”
Participating institutions and game times will be announced at a later date.
ESPNU also aired the 2005 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Soccer Championship games as well as eight men’s basketball games and three women’s basketball games during the 2005-06 season.

ESPNU has secured distribution agreements with DIRECTV (Channel 609), Echostar’s DISH Network (Channel 148), Adelphia, Insight Communications, Mediacom, Verizon, several smaller affiliates and is close to distribution agreements with others.
