Willingboro’s Meyers Transfers to Rider
LAWRENCEVILLE—Tammy Meyers of Willingboro has transferred from George Mason to Rider University to further her education and basketball career, Rider head coach Tori Harrison announced.
A 5’9” guard/forward, Meyers played in 11 games for George Mason last season, averaging over seven minutes played per game.
“The one thing about Tammy is that she comes from a winning program at Willingboro,” said Harrison. “She knows how to win, and what it takes to win, so I will be looking for her to make her presence known in practice on a daily basis.”
At Willingboro, Meyers averaged 21.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game in 2005, earning South Jersey Player of the Year and second team All-State honors.
In addition to Meyers, who becomes eligible to play for Rider in the 2007-08 season, Rider has added Ashley Anderson of East Orange, Amanda Sepulveda of the Hun School, Ilda Llamas of Santee, California, Melissa Kowalczyk of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Stephanie Wisniewski of Levittown, PA, as newcomers to the Rider team.
