Rider Signs E. Orange’s Anderson
LAWRENCEVILLE--Ashley Anderson of East Orange, a senior at East Orange High School, has signed a national letter of intent to further her education and basketball career at Rider University, Rider head coach Tori Harrison announced.
A 6’0” forward, Anderson earned first team All-Iron Hills Conference and second team All-Essex County honors last year, averaging 15.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game.
“Ashley is a tremendous athlete who will help us in the post area,” said Harrison, who begins her third season at Rider.
Anderson joins Amanda Sepulveda of the Hun School, Ilda Llamas of Santee, California, Melissa Kowalczyk of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Stephanie Wisniewski of Levittown, PA, as newcomers to the Rider team. Sepulveda is a 5’5” point guard, Llamas is a 6’3” senior center at West Hills High School. Kowalczyk is a 6’2” senior center at Jamestown High School. Wisniewski is a 6’2” senior forward/center at Villa Joseph Marie High School.
“Ashley, along with Ilda, Melissa and Stephanie, will definitely add more strength for us in the post and on the boards,” Harrison said.
