Rider Signs Hun’s Sepulveda
LAWRENCEVILLE—Amanda Sepulveda of The Hun School has signed a national letter of intent to further her education and basketball career at Rider University, Rider head coach Tori Harrison announced.
Sepulveda is a 5’5” point guard who compiled 13.9 points, 5.3 assists and made 55 three-point field goals this past season, earning first team All-State Prep A honors.
“Amanda will add some depth to our point guard position,” said Harrison, who begins her third season at Rider. “We are excited about this class and Amanda will be the floor general of the bunch.”
Sepulveda was named first team All-Mid-Atlantic Prep League, first team All-Prep by both the Trenton Times and the Trentonian, and first team All-Girl’s Basketball by the Princeton Packet.
Sepulveda is a 2005 graduate of Perth Amboy High School, where she was the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,282 career points. She made 146 three-pointers in her Perth Amboy career, and was named the MVP of the senior all-star game.
Sepulveda joins Ilda Llamas of Santee, California, Melissa Kowalczyk of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Stephanie Wisniewski of Levittown, PA, as newcomers to the Rider team. Llamas is a 6’3” senior center at West Hills High School. Kowalczyk is a 6’2” senior center at Jamestown High School. Wisniewski is a 6’2” senior forward/center at Villa Joseph Marie High School.
