It was worth the wait. The Broncs swept Wagner Thursday in a match that began on October 11 and was suspended due to rain. “In my 12 years here I don’t think we’ve ever continued a match like this,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres. |

The streak continues. Although the Broncs were swept by FDU Wednesday, Rider senior Caitlin Crawbuck (Jacobstown/Northern Burlington) extended her winning streak to 20 singles matches with a pro set victory at second singles. “Caitlin is the steadiest player I’ve ever had in my 12 years here,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres. |

In the initial Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match of the season, the Broncs spilt with Saint Peter’s Sunday. “The players play hard every match, but I think the MAAC matches mean more to them,” said head coach Ed Torres. “We all know the MAAC matches are the most important.” |

The Broncs began the 2006 fall tennis season at NJIT Saturday. “The women had a very close match,” said head coach Ed Torres. “We gave a good account for ourselves today, even though I’m disappointed that we lost,” said Torres. |

One of the greatest tennis players to ever compete in a Rider uniform, Rider University tennis coach Ed Torres is still competing, and still winning. Torres recently won a gold medal in doubles and a silver medal in singles at the New Jersey Senior Olympic Games in the 70 to 74 age bracket, held in Atlantic City. Torres has now qualified for the National Senior Olympic Games to be held next year in Louisville, Kentucky. |
