Rider’s Fenlator All-East at ECACs

PRINCETON—Rider University junior Jazmine Fenlator (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) threw the discus 47.02m to place fifth and earn All-East honors at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships Friday, held at Princeton University. “Jazmine really did a great job today,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello.

Last year Fenlator became Rider’s first-ever ECAC Champion, winning the discus with a toss of 155’10”. “The field was so much stronger this year,” said Pasquariello. “The top two are both returning All-Americans, and Jazmine was sitting on third place for most of the day.”

Fenlator holds the Rider record in the discus at 159’3”, and recently won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship in the discus with a throw of 46.66m.

This marks the third time Fenlator has earned All-East honors, and second this year. She was All-East this winter in the weight throw with a seventh place finish. “And she has two more great chances tomorrow,” said Pasquariello

Tomorrow Fenlator will compete in the hammer, and Sunday the shot put. Fenlator recently broke her own Rider record in the hammer at the Broadmead Invitational at Princeton May 2 with a throw of 170' 4", and won the shot put at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships May 7 with a meet record throw of 14.11m.

Rider will compete in seven events at the women’s ECAC Championships and nine events at the men’s IC4A Championships, also held at Princeton this weekend.
