Rider’s Cullen ECAC Player of Week

LAWRENCEVILLE—Senior Jen Cullen of the Rider University softball team was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for all games played the last week of April.

Cullen was previously honored as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the same time period.

Cullen (Lake Hopatcong/Immaculata) batted .517 last week with 15 hits, seven runs batted in and six runs scored in seven games. Cullen had two RBI in a 3-0 MAAC win over Siena, and hit a home run in a 3-1 win over Siena to give Rider an 8-6 MAAC record.  Cullen also hit a home run in a MAAC win over Iona.

Cullen began this week with four hits in a doubleheader sweep of Fairfield to qualify for the MAAC playoffs.

Rider began the MAAC season 2-6 before winning its last eight conference games to qualify for the MAAC playoff for the third time in the last four years.
