Rider at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA, PA—Several members of the Rider University women’s track & field team competed in the Penn Relays Thursday. “Overall it was a good day,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello. “On this kind of stage, in this atmosphere it can be a little intimidating, but we competed well today.”
Freshman Kelly Kajunski (Glenmore, Pa./Downington East) enjoyed the best day for Rider, placing fourth in the Women's Eastern high jump with a height of 5’6” to earn a medal. “I was very pleased with Kelly’s performance today,” said Pasquariello. “She really went after it and was the star of the day. Anytime you can win a Penn Relays medal you’re doing something right. Kelly high jumped 5’7” last week to tie the Rider record, and she just missed 5’7.5” today.”
Junior Jazmine Fenlator (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) placed tenth in the Women's College Discus at 45.08m. “Jaz had some minor technical problems today,” said Pasquariello. “She didn’t reach her PR but still had a respectable day.”
Sophomore Rebecca Clatch (Drums, Pa./Hazelton Area) threw the Women's College Javelin 37.59m to finish 20th.
The Relays continue Friday.
