Rider Signs Third Recruit

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—Robbie Myers of Mountain Top, PA, a senior at Crestwood High School, has signed a national letter of intent to further his education and basketball career at Rider University, Rider head coach Tommy Dempsey announced today.

“Robbie was one of the best big kids in Pennsylvania,” said Dempsey, who has already signed 6’5” guard Ryan Thompson, a senior at Lenape High School in Mt. Laurel, NJ, and 6’1” guard Patrick Mansell, a senior at Cheltenham (PA) High School.

A 6’8”, 235 center, Myers compiled over 1100 career points. As a senior he averaged 14.4 points and 9.7 rebounds for his 27-3 squad, leading Crestwood to the Wyoming Valley Conference Division I and AAA District 2 Championship as a First Team All-Wyoming Valley Conference selection.

"Robbie really started to blossom as a player during his senior year,” said Dempsey. “He is a big strong kid that plays extremely hard and rebounds the ball very well. His best years of basketball are still in front of him and we are very excited that he has decided to continue his academic and basketball careers at Rider University."

In 2006 Rider had four freshmen and a sophomore among its top eight players, and turned out an All-MAAC and a MAAC All-Rookie team selection.
