LAWRENCVILLE, NJ—Joe Maroney of Bensalem, PA, a senior at Rider University, is one of five student-athletes to be honored by the Colonial Athletic Association as a recipient of the CAA Scholar-Athlete Award, for excelling both athletically and academically in the winter sports season.

Maroney compiled a 20-17 overall record this season, including 8-1 in CAA Dual Meets. He placed second at the CAA Championship in the 184-pound weight class, which earned him a trip to Nationals. Earlier this season, he placed fourth at the Lock Haven Mat Town USA tournament at 165 pounds.
