Rider’s Radgee Saberon Honored by the MAAC
LAWRENCEVILLE—Junior Radgee Saberon of the Rider University men’s tennis team has been honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference as the MAAC tennis player of the week for all matches played April 11-17.
A 5-9 junior from Berlin, N.J., Saberon won three singles and three doubles matches last week. Against Monmouth, he posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at number two singles and teamed up with senior Chris Stanco (Downingtown, Pa.) at number one doubles for a 9-7 victory. Facing Wagner, Saberon responded with a 6-1, 6-3 win at first singles and joined Stanco again for an 8-5 victory at first doubles. He then helped Rider to its lone MAAC win of the year against Loyola, notching a 6-2, 6-0 victory at first singles and pairing with Stanco at first doubles once again for an 8-6 win.
On the season, Saberon has teamed with Stanco for 10 wins in doubles competition, and has won his last three singles matches in a row.
Rider competes in the conference championships at the USTA Center in New York, April 21-23.
