Rider’s Crimoli, Hayes Honored by MAAC

LAWRENCEVILLE—Senior Gene Crimoli and freshman Jamie Hayes of the Rider University baseball team were honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Crimoli as the MAAC Player of the Week, and Hayes as the MAAC Rookie of the Week, for all games played April 3-9.

Crimoli (Shrewsbury/Christian Brothers Academy) led Rider to a 4-0 week by batting .467, collecting seven hits, including a triple and a home run, while scoring six runs and knocking in three.

Hayes (Sunrise, Fla./Piper) batted .582 last week with seven hits, while scoring five runs and knocking in four and stealing three bases.

Hayes also took the mound to end a pair of Rider wins last week, earning the save against Seton Hall and striking out all three batters he faced in the ninth inning against La Salle.

Rider plays at Monmouth Tuesday.
