Rider 4th of 14 at Princeton Invitational

SPRINGDALE—The Broncs shot a 292 on Sunday to jump from seventh to a fourth place finish in the 14-team Princeton Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday at the Springdale Golf Club. “To move up from seventh to fourth in this field speaks volumes of how far we’ve come as a program,” said Rider head coach Chet Dalgewicz.

Rider finished with a two-day total of 601. Columbia won the tournament with a 594.

Sophomore Dylan Maxey (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area) cut 19 strokes off of his score on Saturday to shoot a 68 on Sunday, the lowest score of the day on the par 71. “I asked each golfer to cut two strokes off of yesterday’s score, and Dylan cuts 19," said Dalgewicz.  “Dylan has a lot of pride in his game and after yesterday’s performance in horrible conditions he wanted to show what he could do.”

Maxey’s two day total was 155, 41st overall among the 75 golfers.

Sophomore Tyler Brewington (Orangeville, Pa./Benton) had a 78 on Saturday but shot a 73 on Sunday for a two-day total of 151. Senior Brad Domenico (Colts Neck, N.J./Colts Neck) had a 73 on Saturday and a 78 on Sunday for a 151 total.

Domenico and Brewington tied for 18th place. Domenico was Rider’s top finisher on Saturday and had the fifth best score on Sunday, but his score Sunday was the tie-breaker, giving Rider fourth place over Georgetown. “brad led us on Saturday and his score was the tie-breaker on Sunday,” said Dalgewicz.

Senior Jonathan Kent (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) shot a 75 on Sunday after a 78 on Saturday for a total of 153, good for 30th.

Sophomore Josh Krumholz (Reading, PA/Gov. Mifflin) shot a 76 on Sunday after an 80 on Saturday for a total of 156, 48th overall.
