Rider’s Stanco MAAC Player of Week

 

LAWRENCEVILLE—Rider University senior Chris Stanco was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for all competition March 28-April 3.

 

Stanco (Downingtown, PA) won at both singles and doubles in both matches for Rider last week, as Rider defeated Fordham and Delaware State.

 

In a 4-3 win over Fordham, the match was tied at 3-3 and the second singles went to a third set, with Stanco winning the seven-point tie-breaker 7-1 to end the match. Stanco lost the first set 2-6 before winning 6-4.

 

Stanco won at first doubles with junior Ragdee Saberon (Berlin, NJ/Overbrook) after trailing 4-0 and came back to win seven straight points.

 

Against Delaware State, Stanco won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles and 8-3 at first doubles.
