LAWRENCEVILLE—The Broncs swept Delaware State on Sunday. “We played very well today,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres.
For the Rider men (3-1), junior Ragdee Saberon (Berlin, NJ/Overbrook) came back from an 8-4 deficit to win 12-10 in the 10-point tie-breaker for the third and deciding set at first singles. “Ragdee played an outstanding match,” said Torres. “He won against an excellent player.”
Saberon lost the first set but came back to win the second, and trailed in the tie-breaker. “What an outstanding come back,” said Torres.
For the Rider women (2-0), juniors Devin and Caitlin Crawbuck (Jacobstown, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) won at singles and doubles, as did senior Dana Previti (Egg Harbor Twp.) and junior Kelly Chouinard (White Hall, Md./Hereford).
“All of the women played well today,” said Torres.
The Rider women play at Lafayette Thursday, and are home with the men Friday to host Niagara.
