Rider 4th of 23 at Towson Invitational-Day One
CRISFIELD, MD—The Broncs shot a 290 on Saturday and are currently in fourth place after the first day of the two-day, 23-team Drew Upton Memorial Towson Golf Classic. “We played extremely well,” said Rider head coach Chet Dalgewitz.
For the Broncs, sophomore Tyler Brewington (Orangeville, Pa./Benton) shot a 71 on the par 72 Great Hope Golf Course and is currently eighth overall among the 115 golfers.
Also for Rider, senior Jonathan Kent (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) had a 72 and is 18th overall.
Sophomore Josh Krumholz (Reading, PA/Gov. Mifflin) shot a 73, and sophomore Dylan Maxey (Montrose, PA/Montrose Area) shot a 74.
Senior Brad Domenico (Colts Neck, N.J./Colts Neck) shot a 76.
“The windy conditions were tough but the team played well and I couldn’t be happier for them,” said Dalgewitz.
Richmond leads the field with a 283, followed by Binghamton (285) and James Madison (289). Tied with Rider for fourth is nationally ranked Western Kentucky, William & Mary and Liberty. “we’re a head of Yale, Princeton, Rutgers, Towson, Loyola, some pretty darn good teams,” said Dalgewitz. ‘Our goal is to stay ahead of them, and maybe catch one of these teams ahead of us. To place in the top three in a field like this would be awesome.”
