ORLANDO, FL-The Broncs dropped a pair on Tuesday at the Spring Rebel Games, despite six hits by senior Jen Cullen (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Immaculata). "Jen did a good job today, coming up with some nice hits," said Rider head coach Tricia Carroll.

Against Army, Rider had 17 hits. "We had a lot of hits, but we never seemed to get the ‘big’ hit," Carroll said. "We did better in the second game (Army). I was much more pleased with the effort put forth in the second game."

Cullen led off the game with a single and scored on an RBI single by senior Jamie Farley (Clifton). Sophomore Tiffany Day Neutill (Agoura Hills, Calif./Oaks Christian) singled and scored on a double by senior Jill Carrabus (Bellport, NY), to give Rider a 2-0 lead. Farley and Carrabus each had two hits against Army. "Jamie and Jill are hitting the bal well," said Carroll.

Day Neutill had three hits on the day.

Army scored four runs in the first inning on five hits and a Rider error, and took a 7-2 lead in the fifth inning.

In the sixth inning Rider scored twice on four hits, the biggest hit an RBI single by freshman Lauren Brunner (Chino, Calif./Chino). Junior Nichole Mears (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) also had a single and scored in the sixth.

In the first game against Wagner, Cullen singled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Carrabus to tie the score at 1-1 in the first inning. Wagner (5-8) scored three runs in the second inning and six in the fourth inning.

Sophomore Mandi Sekly (Canyon County, CA/Canyon) hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning for Rider’s other run against Wagner. Sekly had two hits against Army. Day Neutill, Mears and sophomore Aimee Schiller (Moreno Valley, CA/Moreno Valley) all had hits for Rider against Wagner.
