Rider Honored for Academics by NFHCA
LAWRENCEVILLE—Nine members of the Rider University field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad.
As a team, Rider was one of 48 Division I teams to be honored nationally for having a team grade point average above 3.0.
Broncs honored by the NFHCA for their high grade points averages include junior Krysta Bearish (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh), senior Courtney Bertos (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls), junior Ashley Boulden (Brooklawn, N.J./Gloucester), junior Elizabeth Betterbaugh (Wellsville, Pa./Northern), sophomore Emily Egan (Gibbsboro, N.J./Eastern), senior Allyson Hunter (Plainsboro, N.J./WW P-North), junior Meaghan Schweers (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield), freshman Julie Vaccarelli (Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional) and sophomore Taylor Webb (Port Murray, N.J./Voorhees).
The Rider field hockey team was recently honored for having the highest grade point average of the 20 Rider varsity teams, compiling a team grade point average of 3.281 for the fall 2005 semester.
