Modrovs Rider Athletes of Month for February
LAWRENCEVILLE--Brandon and Priscilla Modrov of the Rider University swimming & diving teams were named the Rider Athletes of the Month for February.
At the recent Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships, Priscilla (Smithtown, NY) was named the MAAC Women’s Most Outstanding Swimmer, and her brother, junior Brandon, was named the MAAC Men’s Most Outstanding Swimmer, leading Rider to a pair of runner-up finishes.
Priscilla, a 2005 graduate of Hauppauge High School, set MAAC records in winning the 200 freestyle (1:53.69) and the 400 individual medley (4:27.84) and set a MAAC and Rider record in the 200 individual medley, winning with a time of 2:05.92, and swam on the MAAC record setting 800 free relay.
Brandon, a 2003 Hauppauge graduate, set a Rider record with a first place finish in the 200 individual medley (1:52.01), won the 400 individual medley with a MAAC record time of 3:59.75, won the 200 breaststroke in a Rider record time of 2:05.60, swam on four winning relays, and was named to the MAAC All-Academic team.
At the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, Priscilla placed second in the 200 free in a Rider record time, and placed third in both the 200 IM and the 400 IM.
Brandon placed second in the 200 breaststroke at the ECAC Championships.
Priscilla has now been named the Rider Athlete of the Month three times.
