Rider at ECAC Championships
Women 4th of 23, Men 5th of 19
PITTSBURGH, PA—The Broncs competed at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, with the women placing fourth and the men fifth.
For the Rider men on Sunday, senior Dan Burgess (Greeley, Colo./Union Colony Prep) finished second in the 100 free (45.60), junior Brandon Modrov (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) finished second in the 200 breast (2:05.85) and sophomore Dylan Korn (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) placed second in the 1-merer dive (276.95).
For the Rider women on Sunday, junior Courtney Clark (Broomall, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was third in the 1650 free (17:27.45). The women’s 400 free relay team of freshman Priscilla Modrov (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge), sophomore Stephanie Cosentino (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Academy), junior Lauren Urbanski (Lansdowne, Pa./Upper Darby) and Clark finished third (3:34.72).
Urbanski also placed fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:07.87) and Cosentino placed sixth in the 100 free (54.15).
Senior Chris Coles (Plainsboro, N.J./WW-P North) finished fifth in the 1-meter dive (232.50), freshman Josh Rosenbluth (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) placed sixth in the 200 back (1:52.87, junior Andy French (Richfield, Minn./Richfield Senior) placed 14th in the 1650 free (16:47.94), sophomore Peter Starr (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area Senior) was 14th in the 200 back (1:56.01) and junior Eric McFerin (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) placed 14th in the 100 free (47.73).
The men’s 400 free relay team of Rosenbluth, Modrov, senior Trevor Vernal (Milford, Conn./Notre Dame) and McFerin placed eighth (3:10.40).
Sophomore Becky Sanbower (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.) placed 11th in the 1650 free (18:12.38), freshman Ericka Kriedel (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield) placed 15th in the 200 back (2;15.18) and senior Kristen Enoch (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) placed 14th in the 200 breast (2:32.41).
