Rider’s Coles, Korn Heading to NCAA Zone

            LAWRENCEVILLE—Rider University senior Chris Coles and sophomore Dylan Korn have qualified for the NCAA Diving Zone Qualifying Meet in both the one-meter and the three-meter dives.

            At the Rutgers Diving Invitational, Coles (Plainsboro, N.J./WW-P North) placed third in the 3-meter dive with 305.15 points, and seventh in the 1-meter dive with 312.80 points.

            Korn (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) placed third in the 1-meter dive (340.65) and seventh in the 3-meter (273.65).

            Coles and Korn are the first Rider divers to qualify for the NCAA Zone meet since Rob Baier in 2003. Baier was the four-time MAAC Diver of the Year. 

Rider is in Zone A and will compete at the US Naval Academy March 9-12.

            Coles is the two-time MAAC Diver of the Year, and will defend his title at the MAAC Championships this weekend, February 16-18 at Loyola.
