Rider Competing at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y.—Trying to get current and potential IC4A/ECAC qualifiers some additional exposure, several Broncs are competing at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory in New York Friday and Saturday.

The men’s 4x800 relay consisting of junior Dave Lado (Ridgefield, N.J./Ridgefield Memorial), senior Ayotunde Owodunni (Sicklerville, N.J./Highland Regional), sophomore Jeff Stead (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) and sophomore Andre Fearon (Newark, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) finished in eighth place with an IC4A qualifying time of 7:50.82.

“We are trying to expose some of our athletes to a higher level of competition, while balancing the fact that we have a tough meet with TCNJ in the Mercer Duals on Sunday,” said head coach Rob Pasquariello.  “The exposure to pressure packed competition in this type of setting will only help them as they advance into the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships and also in the IC4A/ECAC competition.”

Not to mention the pressure of dropping the baton during the 4x800 race, on the hand off between the second and third leg.  “I was very pleased with how Jeff Stead and Andre Fearon kept their composure and finished strong,” added Pasquariello.

Also for Rider, senior Krystle Daniels (Brooklyn, N.Y./South Shore) placed 11th in the weight throw (15.08m), junior Jazmine Fenlator (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) was 13th in the weight throw (14.66m) and tied for 23rd in the shot put (12.79m), junior David Payne (Neptune, N.J./Neptune) finished 23rd in the 200m (22.14) and 29th in the 60m (6.93) and senior Jamaal Harris (Beverly, N.J./Palmyra) finished 51st in the 60m (7.05) and 52nd in the 200m (22.55).

The Broncs compete in the Mercer Duals at Lawrence Prep Sunday.
