      2005 Results
      November 18, 2005 - Four Broncs MAAC All-Academic

      Stefanie Lombardo

The Rider University volleyball team placed four student-athletes on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team, it was announced Friday night.

      November 12, 2005 - Niagara 3 Rider 1

      Kristine Dormer

The Rider season came to an end Saturday with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference loss to Niagara. “We played well today against a playoff team,” said head coach Emily Ahlquist.  “with the win on Friday and the solid effort today I think our season ended with a bang.”

      November 11, 2005 - Rider 3 Canisius 2

      Embrey Minor
In a match that seemed to take as long as the drive, the Broncs won a two-hour Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Canisius Friday night.
      November 6, 2005 - Siena 3 Rider 0

      Embrey Minor
Yesterday, the volleyball seniors were feeling emotions as they partook in Senior Day festivities, but today, those same seniors were feeling emotions of another sort.
      November 5, 2005 - Rider 3 Marist 1

      Nastasja Avramovic
On Senior Day, the Broncs enjoyed a come-from-behind Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory over Marist Saturday. “It was very fitting to get this win on senior day,” said Rider head coach Emily Ahlquist. “We held our composure today the entire match, everyone was involved.”
      October 31, 2005 - Iona 3 Rider 1

      Kristine Dormer
Almost.  The Broncs almost won their first MAAC match of the season.  Almost.  The Broncs almost knocked off the first place Gaels from Iona.
      October 28, 2005 - Fairfield 3 Rider 1

      Nastasja Avramovic
When you have a healthy heart, the other injuries don’t matter.  Beset by injuries all season, the Broncs lost a heart breaker at Fairfield on Friday night.
      October 22, 2005 - Saint Peter's 3 Rider 0

      Stefanie Lombardo
The Broncs played like the weather on Saturday.  “We were kind of dreary today, much like the weather,” said Rider head coach Emily Ahlquist.
      October 21, 2005 - Manhattan 3 Rider 2

      Stefanie Lombardo
One thousand. A grand. The magic number is a milestone to strive for.  For senior Stefanie Lombardo (New Castle, Pa/Laurel), she reached the 1,000 plateau in digs on Friday, and on Saturday she will be approaching 1,000 career kills as well. “It is a milestone for the elite athletes, either in digs or kills, and to do it in both it is a sign of an outstanding, consistent, all-around career,” said Rider head coach Emily Ahlquist.
      October 16, 2005 - Rider 3 Providence 0

      Lacey Johnson
Ah, the joys of playing without pressure. Too bad every contest isn’t like this. Unfortunately, they are not. Rider played its final non-conference match of the season Sunday, defeating the Friars of Providence in three straight games.
      October 15, 2005 - Loyola 3 Rider 1

      Kristine Dormer

The Broncs lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match to Loyola Saturday. “We had a real nice comeback in the third and fourth games,” said Rider head coach Emily Ahlquist.

      October 8, 2005 - Manhattan 3 Rider 2 / FDU 3 Rider 1

      Stefanie Lombardo
After defeating Wagner on Friday the Broncs lost to Manhattan and host Fairleigh Dickinson on the second day of the FDU Invitational Saturday. The Broncs were playing a bit short-handed, as sophomore Nastasja Avramovic (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) and junior Megan Smith (Webster, NY) were out of the line up with injuries.  “We were a bit thin today, playing with no subs,” said Rider head coach Emily Ahlquist.
      October 7, 2005 - Rider 3 Wagner 0

      Jennifer Drummond

When teaching the finer points of the game of volleyball, most instructors teach how to serve, how to dig, how to kill, and how to block.  Rider senior middle hitter Jennifer Drummond (Lindenhurst) led the Broncs to victory over Wagner in the first round of the Fairleigh Dickinson University Invitational Friday night by being obnoxious.

      September 30, 2005 - Rider 3 St. Francis-NY 0

      Kristine Dormer

Maybe preparation is overrated. After all, some professional athletes skip pre-season workouts and have all-star seasons. On Friday, the Broncs didn’t have much time to think about having two injured starters out of the line up. With a major traffic jam delaying Rider’s arrival to St. Francis-NY, the Broncs had to change clothes on the bus, and came out strong, defeating St. Francis in three straight games.

      September 28, 2005 - Lafayette 3 Rider 2

      Katrina Stehle

After the Broncs’ three game winning streak was ended by Maryland Eastern Shore last Saturday, the women’s volleyball team came out fast, energetic, and deceptive against Lafayette, according to volleyball head coach Emily Ahlquist.
