Fresh off clocking an impressive two hours, 30 minutes and 23 seconds in his very first marathon, Bermuda's Terrance Armstrong is now setting his sights on qualifying for the marathon in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Terrance Armstrong, a 1994 graduate of Rider University and a member of the Rider Athletics Hall of Fame, placed 53rd overall at the New York City Marathon Sunday.

The Rider University track & field teams competed in the Eastern Championships this weekend, the women in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, and the men in the In the ICAAAA Championships. “We had a great day today,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello.

Nine members of the Rider University women’s outdoor track & field team and four members of the men’s team were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team.

May 7, 2006 - Women 2nd / Men 2nd - MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Both the women’s and men’s outdoor track and field teams placed second to Manhattan in the 2006 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Rider this weekend.  “I’m not disappointed in our performance at all,” said head coach Rob Pasquariello.  “But, I am disappointed that we finished second again.  For the men’s team, this is as close (11 points) as we have ever been.”

May 6, 2006 - Women 1st / Men 2nd after Day One - MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

The Rider women lead the pack and the men are currently second after the first day of the two-day Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Rider.  The majority of the events take place Sunday. “Today went very well,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello.  “On the women’s side, it is always nice to be leading after the first day, and on the men’s side, this is the closest we’ve ever been to Manhattan after the first day.”

The Rider University men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams competed at the 23rd annual Lions’ Invitational, hosted by The College of New Jersey Saturday.

April 29, 2006 - at Penn Relays - Day Three

The Broncs came home with a second place medal at the 112th Penn Relay Carnival, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. “Our women got a fifth place medal in the high jump Thursday, and now our men got a second place medal on Saturday,” said coach Rob Pasquariello. “Any time you can bring medals home from the Penn Relays you have to be happy.”

April 28, 2006 - at Penn Relays - Day Two

Two of the Rider University relay teams have qualified to compete Saturday in the IC4A Finals at the 112th Penn Relay Carnival, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. “Both of the relays that qualified made some mistakes today and still ran great times,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello. “They both have a chance to run really fast times tomorrow without the mistakes.”

Two members of the Rider University track & field team, juniors Doug Beck and Jazmine Fenlator, have been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Performers of the Week.

April 15, 2006 - Rider wins Quad Meet

On a sun drenched afternoon, both the Rider University men’s and women’s track & field teams placed first against Sacred Heart University, the University of Delaware and Saint Peter’s College Saturday in the Rider Quad Meet. “We knew coming in today it was going to be nice weather, so we wanted to take advantage of that, and I’m proud of the way we did that,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello.  “I’m happy with the way we competed. This was a fantastic win for our women’s team, beating solid programs like Sacred Heart and Delaware. This was a great day all around.”

April 1, 2006 - 1st of 6 - Lafayette Invitational

Track athletes are used to competing in all types of weather.  Just not all during one meet.  Rider University hosted the Lafayette Invitational on Saturday in conditions that went from sunny and 75 to sideways rain and 55 and back again.  Throw in a 40 mile per hour wind and well, you have an outdoor collegiate track meet.

March 25, 2006 - Rider at Monmouth Invitational

The Broncs began the outdoor season at the Monmouth Invitational Saturday. “Considering the weather and being the first time out, overall is was a very good day,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello. “We had a lot of good performances.”
