LAWRENCEVILLE—The Broncs lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game to Manhattan Saturday. “Hopefully we’ll learn from this,” said Rider head coach Tori Harrison. “We should have given a better performance.”

Rider (2-15, 1-7 MAAC) led 8-6 before Manhattan (7-10, 4-4 MAAC) went on a 12-0 run, four points by Caitlin Flood, to take an 18-8 lead mid-way through the first half. Manhattan led 35-22 at halftime. Flood finished with 16 points.

Holding a 44-30 lead, Manhattan went on a 17-1 run, six points by Kelly Regan, to take a 61-31 lead with 10 minutes left to play. Regan finished with 16 points.

Junior Monica Welborn (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) led the Broncs with 11 points.

Rider sophomore Janele Henderson (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Loughlin) added eight points and freshman Shaunice Parker (Waldorf, MD/West Lake) added seven points and seven rebounds.

The Broncs made just 10 of 22 foul shots. “When you shoot 46 percent from the foul line you are not going to beat anyone,” said Harrison.  “It wasn’t very long ago we led the MAAC in foul shooting. Today we just had a total lack of focus.”

Rider is off until January 27 when the Broncs travel to Marist. “We have to get re-centered,” said Harrison. “We have a tough game coming up at Marist. We’ll go back and look at this tape and hopefully we’ll learn from this. No matter what the score is you have to play hard.  I don’t thing any team in this league is 30 points better than us.”
