Rider at Great Dane Classic
Men: 6th of 14
Women: 8th of 13

NEW YORK, NY—The Broncs competed at the Great Dane Classic Friday night, hosted by the University at Albany at New York’s 168th Street Armory. The Rider men placed sixth of 14 teams and had six IC4A qualifiers, while the women placed eighth of 13 teams and has three ECAC Championship qualifiers.  “We had a good meet,” said Rider coach Rob Pasquariello.  “I’m happy with our finish today, for where we are in the season.”

For the men the distance medley relay team won in an IC4A qualifying time of 10:16.07. Junior David Payne (Neptune) was fourth in the 200m (21.90) and seventh in the 55m dash (6.48) to qualify for the IC4A in both events, and senior Jamaal Harris (Beverly/Palmyra) placed sixth in the 200m (21.97) to qualify for the IC4As.

For the Rider women, junior Jazmine Fenlator (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) placed third in both the shot put (13.62m) and the wt. throw (16.23m), and both marks qualified for the ECACs.

 

Senior Krystal Daniels (Brooklyn, N.Y./South Shore) placed second in the wt. throw (16.75m) and also qualified for the ECACs.

Sophomore Andre Fearon (Newark, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) placed third in the 800m (1:53.74) to qualify for the IC4As. “Fearon showed up in the 800,” said Pasquariello.  “He got a chance to show what he could do tonight.”

Sophomore John Smith (Cliffwood Beach, N.J./Matawan) placed second in the 5,000m (15:16.32).

Freshman Tabatha Haskins (Medford/Shawnee) placed sixth in the 55m hurdles (8.62), and senior Mechea Medine (Pittstown/Delaware Valley) placed eighth in the triple jump (11.28m).

Senior Adam Kucinski (Erial, N.J./Highland Regional) placed sixth in the long jump (6.90m), freshman Tom Planer (Cranford) placed sixth in the high jump (1.91m) and sophomore Ryan Donohue (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township) placed sixth in the 1,000m (2:34.31). Sophomore Jeff Stead (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury ) placed eighth in the mile (4:22.75).

“The performances were really good tonight,’ said Pasquariello.
