Caitlin Crawbuck, a junior on the Rider University tennis team, was named first team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.  Crawbuck is the first tennis player from Rider to ever earn first team All-MAAC honors.

Gene Crimoli of the baseball team, and Caitlin Crawbuck of the tennis team, were named the Rider University Athletes of the Month for April.

Six members of the Rider University tennis teams were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team.

April 21, 2006 - #3 Niagara 6 #6 Rider 1

The Rider women lost to Niagara and the Rider men lost to Fairfield in the first round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships Friday, held at the United States Tennis Association Center in New York. “The score didn’t indicate how the women’s match went,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres. “The men didn’t play as well today as we have been, but the women played well against a good team.”

The Rider University tennis teams are both seeded sixth in the eight-team Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships this weekend, held at the United States Tennis Association Center in New York. “It was important to stay away from the top two teams in the first round,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres. “Once you get away from the top two, anything can happen.”

April 17, 2006 - Loyola-MD 5 Rider 2

Rider split a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match with Loyola Monday, with the men getting their first MAAC victory. “It was good timing for the men to get a MAAC win, right before the tournament,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres. “That will help keep us away from the top two teams in the first round.”

The Broncs swept Wagner Thursday, winning every set and every match. “We have a tough MAAC opponent in Loyola coming up, and this was a good tune up for that,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres.

The Broncs were swept by the Stags in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Fairfield Sunday. “Fairfield is a good team,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres. ‘Their men have won nine in a row.”

April 6, 2006 - Lafayette 6 Rider 1

Junior Caitlin Crawbuck (Jacobstown/Northern Burlington Regional) won at third singles for the Broncs in a loss at Lafayette Thursday. “Caitlin won a tough match against a very good player,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres.

The Broncs swept Delaware State on Sunday. “We played very well today,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres.

March 30, 2006 - Rider 4 Manhattan 3

Senior Dana Previti (Egg Harbor Twp.) was the last one on the court, and when she won at fifth singles the Broncs won the spring season opener over Manhattan at the USTA Center Thursday evening. “That was the longest match we’ve ever had,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres. “Dana was on the courts for three and a half hours.”
