Fall 05 Results

2005-06 Roster

October 30, 2005 - Rider 6 La Salle 1

Ragdee Saberon
Helping. Whether it be helping his team win a tennis match, or helping the sick in a hospital as a nurse, junior Ragdee Saberon (Berlin, N.J./Overbrook) is there to help.
October 29, 2005 - Drexel 4 Rider 3

Casey Jedlinski

The Broncs were swept by Drexel Saturday. “The teams were about even, and in close matches the team that wins the doubles point usually wins the match, and that’s what happened today,’ said Rider head coach Ed Torres.

October 26, 2005 - FDU 4 Rider 3

Mike Greenberg

Academics over athletics. At Rider, when the athletes have an obligation to be in class, they attend class.  When the head coach is a retired teacher and vice principal, there is no question about the class first policy.  Such as it was today, as junior number one singles player Radgee Saberon (Berlin, N.J./Overbrook) was hitting the books in his biology lab instead of hitting tennis balls as Rider fell at Fairleigh Dickinson 4-3 on Wednesday.

October 23, 2005 - Mount St. Mary's 4 Rider 3

Ragdee Saberon

The Broncs were swept at Mount St. Mary’s Sunday. “With two matches left the scores were 3-2 for both the men and the women, so it was very close and could have gone either way,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres.

October 16, 2005 - Rider 7 Morgan State 0

Ragdee Saberon
The Broncs swept Morgan State Sunday. “The conditions were very poor with the strong winds, but we managed to overcome them and play well,” said Rider head coach Ed Torres.
October 8, 2005 - Saint Peter's 4 Rider 3

Jim Leone
After a long day of indoor tennis, there was a long drive home from Jersey City to Lawrenceville. For Rider University freshman Danielle Morse (Edison, N.J./Hopewell Valley), the commute wasn’t bad. She’s used to it.  Morse, who won at fourth singles in three sets and also won at third doubles, commuted 40 minutes a day to Hopewell Valley High School, and currently commutes 30 minutes a day to Rider.
October 5, 2005 - Marist 7 Rider 0

Ed Torres

It’s all about the competition. The Broncs lost to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference power Marist Wednesday. "The only way you are going to get better is to play against better players," said Rider head coach Ed Torres.

October 2, 2005 - Rider 6 St. Francis-NY 1

Jim Leone
Rider Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Ron Walker, might have to add Athletic Recruiter to his title. For it was Walker who is responsible for freshman Tanya Cota coming to Rider from Tucson, Arizona. On Sunday Cota won at first singles, compiling her first collegiate win, to help the Broncs swept St. Francis of New York.
October 1, 2005 - Siena 5 Rider 2

Mike Greenberg

In college tennis, an estimated 75 percent of all matches are completed in two sets.  “I think it is because in tennis, once the momentum starts going in one direction, it is so hard to change it,” said Rider senior Mike Greenberg of Newtown, PA, who won at third singles in a rare, three-set match against Siena Saturday.
