Daniels, Muniz Rider Athletes of Month

            LAWRENCEVILLE—Krystle Daniels of the indoor track & field team, and Edwin Muniz of the basketball team, were named the Rider University Athletes of the Month for all competition in December.

            Daniels, a senior from Brooklyn, NY (South Shore), broke the Rider record in the wt. throw with a toss of 57’2” to place second at the Princeton New Year’s Invitational. The distance was also good enough to qualify for the ECAC Championships.

            Muniz, a senior from Passaic (Passaic), led Rider to a 3-2 month. Muniz scored 27 points, including his 1,000^th, to lead Rider to a win over Delaware, and he scored a career-high 28 points in a win at Monmouth.

            For the month Muniz averaged 17.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, making 17 of 20 foul shots.
