LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.--The Broncs lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at Siena Sunday. “Siena was hungry after we beat them here last year,” said Rider head coach Tori Harrison.

Siena (3-4, 2-0 MAAC) jumped out to a 12-2 lead, six points by 6’1” sophomore Laura Menty, and the Saints led 30-12 before Rider senior Christine Catalanotto (Flushing, NT/Christ the King) made a three-pointer at the half time buzzer, cutting the lead to 30-15 at intermission. “It was very disappointing the way we came out to start the game,” said Harrison.

Catalanotto finished with a season-high nine points for Rider (0-7, 0-2 MAAC).

Menty finished with 14 points for Siena, 12 coming in the first half, and seven rebounds.

Junior Kara Borel (East Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) added eight points, all in the second half, and nine rebounds for Rider.

“We have to go back to work and get some things together,” said Harrison.

Rider hosts Princeton Wednesday at 7pm, and Sacred Heart at home December 29.  “We’ll get it together at home against Princeton and Sacred Heart,” Harrison said. “We seem to play better in front of our home crowd.”

Rider shot just 28 percent from the field, and was out-rebounded 45-24.
