Umbehauer, Modrov Rider Athletes of Month

LAWRENCEVILLE—Freshman Doug Umbehauer of the wrestling team, and freshman Priscilla Modrov of the swimming & diving team, were named the Rider University Athletes of the Month for all competition in November.

Umbehauer (Shamong, N.J./Lenape) compiled an 8-1 record in November, with his only loss coming to a former All-American wrestler.  Umbehauer won his weight class at both the Keystone Classic and the Mat Town USA Invitational.

Modrov (Smithtown, NY/Hauppauge) won the 200 backstroke against Delaware, La Salle, Pennsylvania and Lehigh, won the 200 freestyle against Delaware and La Salle, and won the 200 individual medley against Delaware, La Salle and Marist.

Currently ranked first in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in the 200 free, the 200 IM and the 400 IM, and second in the 100 free, 100 back and 200 back, Modrov set Rider team and Coppola Pool records in both the 200 IM and 400 IM.

Modrov earned the MAAC Swimmer of the Week award in November.

Umbehauer is currently ranked second in the Colonial Athletic Association in the 174 pound weight class.
