Rider’s Johnson MAAC Rookie of Week

LAWRENCEVILLE—Lamar Johnson, a freshman guard on the Rider University basketball team, was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for all games played November 21-27.

In Rider’s game at Drexel, Johnson (Scranton, PA) led all scorers with 19 points, and added four rebounds and two steals.

Johnson made six of 10 field goal attempts, including three of seven three-pointers, and made all four of his foul shots in 29 minutes of action.

Rider (1-2) plays fourth-ranked Villanova Wednesday, November 30, at Trenton’s Sovereign Bank Arena.
