PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Broncs swept Lehigh and lost to host Penn on Saturday. “We stood up to a tough Ivy League team,” said Rider head coach Steve Fletcher.  “It was our women’s first win over Lehigh since I’ve been here, and it was the narrowest loss to Penn by our men.”

For the Rider men (3-1) freshman Josh Rosenbluth (Lawrenceville/Lawrence) won the 200 individual medley (1:55.99) and the 200 backstroke (1:53.80), and swam on the winning medley relay with senior Dan Burgess (Greeley, CO/Union Colony Prep), junior Brandon Modrov (Smithtown, NY/Hauppauge) and junior Eric McFerin (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington).

Sophomore Dylan Korn (Hawthorne, NY/Westlake) won both the 1-meter (253) and the 3-meter (273.75) dives and Dan Burgess won the 200 freestyle (1:43.24).

For the Rider women (1-3), junior Courtney Clark (Broomall, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) won the 500 free (5:13.16), freshman sensation Priscilla Modrov (Smithtown, NY/Hauppauge) won the 200 backstroke (2:09.99) and junior Lauren Urbanski (Lansdowne, Pa./Upper Darby ) won the 200 butterfly (2:08.99).

“It was great for our women to get that first win,” said Fletcher.  “We put Penn on our schedule to challenge us to swim faster, and we’re accomplishing that.”

Rider swims at La Salle with Delaware November 19.
