MAAC Basketball Media Day

NEW YORK, NY—The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference held its annual Basketball Media Day at Madison Square Garden Tuesday. Senior Christine Catalanotto and junior Kara Borel were on hand.

The Rider women were picked to finish tenth. Canisius was picked to win the MAAC women’s title.

Catalanotto (Flushing, NY/Christ the King) was a MAAC All-Academic team member last year, and is one of only two seniors on the Rider squad this season.

Borel (East Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg High) led the 2005 Broncs in rebounding and field goal percentage, and was among the top four Broncs in scoring, steals, assists and minutes played.

Rider begins the preseason Saturday, November 12. The women host the NY/NJ Gazelles at 12 noon, and the men host Albright College at 3:00 pm, in an exhibition doubleheader.

The 2005-2006 season begins November 18, with the women hosting Maine (5:30 pm) and the men hosting Bucknell (8:00 pm) in Alumni Gymnasium.
