Rider's Burgess MAAC Male Swimmer of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE--Dan Burgess, a senior on the Rider University swimming & diving team, was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week for all contests October 17-23.

Burgess (Greeley, Colorado) led Rider to victory over University of Maryland Baltimore County on Saturday by winning the 200 freestyle (1:42.44) and the 100 freestyle (47.42), while swimming on the winning 400 medley relay (3:32.91).

The 130-110 victory over UMBC broke the Retrievers’ streak of 21 consecutive victories, and was the first Rider win over UMBC in four tries.

Rider returns to the pool November 5 to host MAAC rival Marist.
