Against NJIT sophomore Ryan Thompson (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) compiled 20 points and six rebounds, and his older brother, senior Jason Thompson (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) added 17 points and 17 rebounds. With the victory Rider improved to 3-0 at home this season.  Holding a 49-41 lead, Rider went on an 11-2 run, six points by Jason Thompson, to take a 60-43 lead with 9:30 left to play.  Rider went on a 14-4 run, six points by Ryan Thompson, to take a 17-7 lead mid-way through the first half, and led 33-24 at half time. Rider never trailed in the contest. At the Old Spice Classic against Penn State Jason Thompson, Ryan Thompson, junior Harris Mansell (Cheltenham, PA) and freshman Patrick Mansell (Cheltenham, PA) combined for 70 of Rider’s 82 points. In the three-game tournament Jason Thompson compiled 69 points, 32 rebounds and nine blocked shots to earn All-Tournament team honors.

At Penn junior Shaunice Parker (Waldorf, Md./West Lake) compiled 16 points and nine rebounds. Rider cut the lead to three at 61-58 on a lay-up by sophomore Tammy Meyers (Willingboro) with 40 seconds left but that was as close as the Broncs would get. Meyers finished with seven points for the Broncs. Senior Janele Henderson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) had 15 points and two steals with sophomore Amanda Sepulveda (Perth Amboy, N.J./Hun School) adding 11 points, four rebounds and two assists. Against Central Florida Rider used a lay-up by freshman Shannon Ferguson (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) with 27 seconds left to break a 73-73 tie and give the Broncs their third home win of the season. Ferguson finished with eight points, going a perfect three for three from the field and two for two from the free throw line while adding seven rebounds in 26 minutes of action. Sophomore Amanda Sepulveda (Perth Amboy/Hun School) led five Broncs in double-digits with a career-high 23 points on nine of 13 shooting including three from three-point range, along with four assists and two steals in 29 minutes of action and it was that fourth and final assist on a drive in the lane that setup Ferguson for her game-winning shot.

With two runners-up, two third place finishers and a sixth place finisher, the Broncs placed fourth of 10 teams at the Keystone Classic, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. Senior Don Fisch (Williamstown, N.J./Delsea), ranked fourth in the nation at 141, moved up a weight and finished runner-up at 149, winning four of five bouts. In the finals, Fisch, the second seed, lost to the top seed, Scott Ervin of Appalachian State by tech fall.  Ervin is ranked fifth in the nation at 149. Sophomore Rob Morrison (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff), the second seed, placed runner-up at 157, winning three of four bouts. Junior Doug Umbehauer (Shamong, N.J./Lenape), the top seed at 184, place third, as did junior Zac Cunliffe (Farmingdale, N.J./Howell), the number two seed at 133. Cunliffe won five of six bouts, while Umbehauer won four of five bouts. Sophomore Fred Rodgers (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown) placed sixth at 141 pounds, winning three of six bouts.

At the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Regional senior John Smith (Cliffwood Beach/Matawan) placed 38th of the 201 runners, covering the 10k course in 31:20. Junior Kelly Wojciehowski (Fair Haven/Rumson Fair Haven) placed first for the Broncs, 97th overall among the 208 runners, covering the 6k course in 22:50. Freshman Christian Gonzalez (Somerset/Franklin Twp.) placed  58th in 31:45, junior Matt Dahl (West Keansburg/Raritan) was 74th in 32:01.

Against La Salle and Delaware junior diver Amanda Burke (Churchville, Pa./William Tennent) won both the one-meter (268.75) and three-meter (297.40) with sophomore Kellyanne Tomasula (Sussex, N.J./Vernon Township) winning the 50 free (25.16).  The one-meter score for Burke is a Rider team record and broke the La Salle University pool record. Senior diver Dylan Korn (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) won both the one-meter (266.60) and three-meter (281.65) with freshman Dave Farfan (Houston, Texas/Lamar) winning the 200 fly (1:57.43). Freshman Brianna Burns (Chestnut Ridge, N.Y./Spring Valley) won the 100 free (54.00) and junior Priscilla Modrov (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) won the 200 fly (2:10.66). Freshman Drew Modrov (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) won the 100 free (48.12) and junior Josh Rosenbluth (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) won the 200 back (1:55.39).

Against Iona junior Lacey Johnson (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) (23 digs, 16 kills), freshman Katelyn Thompson (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) (14 digs, 12 kills) and sophomore Brittany Hayes (Mitchelleville, Md./Elizabeth Seton) (16 kills, 10 digs) each had ‘double-doubles’. Freshman Elyse Grassmuck (Seguin, Texas/La Vernia) had 43 assists and 19 digs.

Sophomore Nico Tramontana (Vineland/Sacred Heart) took a pass from senior Mark Ockenhouse (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) off of a corner kick and scored his team-high sixth goal of the season to cut the Siena lead to 2-1. Freshman Tom Dunn (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley) scored on a penalty kick to cut the lead to 5-2. Junior goalkeeper Randall Zapolski (Lawrence) made two saves.
