MAAC Honors Broncs’ Brody
EDISON, NJ— Rider University sophomore Alison Brody was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Soccer Player of the Week for all games played September 3-9. “It is a great honor for her,” said Rider head coach Kevin Long. “She has been playing well.”
Brody (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac High) a 5'6" midfielder, scored two goals against Longwood in Rider’s 3-2 victory Sunday. Brody’s goals gave Rider leads of 1-0 and 3-0. Brody was tied for the team lead in game-winning goals last year as a freshman.
Rider (2-0-2) is undefeated in its last seven games (finishing last year 2-0-1).
“Ali certainly has been playing well but this is a strong indicator of how well the entire team is playing,” Long said. “The team has supported all of the things she brings to us.”
Last week Rider had the MAAC Rookie of the Week. “It’s exciting,” Long said. “It has been a while since we had a player of the week.”
Rider plays the home opener Friday when the Broncs host Drexel at 4:00 pm.
