Rider’s Brewington Fires 74 on Day One
at PGA Nationwide Tour Event

SCRANTON, Pa.—Rider University senior Tyler Brewington (Orangeville, Pa./Benton), shot a three-over par 74 in the first round of the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic on the PGA Nationwide Tour in Scranton Thursday and is in 124th place of 156 golfers after day one.

Brewington, a three-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic honoree entered the four-day tournament on a sponsor’s exemption.

Brewington started play at the par-71 6,990 yard course on the back nine and was even-par over the first five holes.  A triple-bogey on his sixth hole of the day (15th) put Brewington four-over at the turn.

Brewington shot one-under par over the final nine holes, carding a 74 on the day.

Overall, Brewington shot 13 pars and two birdies on the day.

Chad Collins leads the tournament by two shots after scoring a nine-under 62.

Competition continues through Sunday.

Following this tournament, Brewington will travel to San Francisco, California for the 107th United States Amateur Tournament, August 20-26.
