Rider Wins NACMA Award

ORLANDO, FLORIDA--The Rider University Athletics Department recently won a bronze medal at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) convention in Orlando, Florida. Rider won the award for the basketball season ticket brochure design category as part of the 16th annual convention.

The brochure was designed by former Rider basketball player and current Rider Graphic Designer Michael Scott and Associate Director of Athletics Karin Torchia.

“It was the first time we submitted any of our promotional pieces or ideas to NACMA for awards consideration,” said Torchia. “To be recognized at this year's convention with the bronze medal for our basketball season ticket brochure was a great honor not only for the athletics department but the university as a whole.  Mike Scott did an outstanding job with the creativity and design elements and truly deserves the credit for this award.”

Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 16 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. A total of 922 entries were received for the 2006-07 year.
