Brian Keane is now in his 14th year of association with Rider University. In his current position as coordinator of athletic event operations and equipment manager, he is responsible for the event management of Rider’s home contests which includes men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling, men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, volleyball, baseball, softball, and outdoor track and field. As part of this role, Keane oversees a work-study staff of 25 which assists him with all game-day event operations. Additionally, he also coordinates the purchasing, maintenance and distribution of equipment, including practice and game uniforms, for all twenty of Rider’s varsity athletic programs.
Over the past nine years, Keane has been instrumental in providing event management and overall assistance to the many conference championships hosted by Rider, including the MAAC men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, and outdoor track and field events as well as the NEC field hockey and ECWA and CAA wrestling championships. In addition, he served as practice coordinator and assisted in overseeing the volunteers for the 2006 NCAA Women’s Basketball First and Second Rounds at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, N.J.
Currently a resident of Bordentown, New Jersey, Keane earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Rider in 1993. During his time as an undergraduate, he served as assistant to the associate athletic director for external operations and development and was a two-year member of Rider’s varsity tennis team.
