Bud Focht

Bud Focht is now in his 27th year as Rider’s sports information director. A native of Levittown, PA, Focht is a 1978 graduate of Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University) in Miami, FL, where he was a varsity baseball player and graduated with a degree in sports administration.
Focht is the primary contact for baseball, men's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and wrestling and shares responsibility for men's and women's track (indoor/outdoor) and men's and women's swimming and diving.
Along with his SID duties, Focht serves as the wrestling information coordinator for the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). Focht held a similar position with the East Coast Wrestling Association and served as the fall sports coordinator for the East Coast Conference in the 1980s.
Prior to working at Rider, Focht spent three years in the athletics department at Rhode Island College in Providence, RI, and served two years as the school’s SID.
Focht and his wife, Therese, reside in Levittown, Pa. with their three children; Heidi, a 2006 Rider graduate, A.J. a 2007 Rider graduate and Amy, a college freshman.
Focht is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
