Rider University seniors Tim Jones and Dan Riverso were honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in the final week of their careers, with Jones being named the Offensive Player of the Week, and Riverso being named the Defensive Player of the Week. “I think it’s great that we got these awards,” said Rider head coach Russ Fager. “I wish it would have happened more often.” |

On Senior Day, the Broncs ended the 2006 season with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win over Manhattan Sunday on the play of three seniors. “This was a great way to end the season,’ said Rider head coach Russ Fager. “The guys did well for themselves, they played well, and that is what we were after.” |

Senior Jacob Kratt (Moorestown) used his head more on Friday than he usually does, first while taking a test, then on an assist, and finally on the game-winning goal, giving Rider an overtime Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win over Saint Peter’s Friday. “I thought the boys played well today, we played hard,” said Rider head coach Russ Fager. “It was a good team effort. They gave everything they had to get the game won.” |

The Broncs took on the 15th ranked team in the country and played right with Fairfield before losing Sunday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game. “We sure had our chances, no question about it,” said Rider head coach Russ Fager. “Our guys played about as good a game as they’ve played this year.” |

The final day of September will be Soccer Alumni Day at Rider University, as the Broncs host Loyola College in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s and women’s doubleheader. “With this being a very big day in college soccer, as both our men’s and women’s teams host Loyola, we’re looking for a big turnout from our alumni, students, faculty and community to help support the teams,” said Rider men’s head coach Russ Fager. |
